Both games off as Monsoon Season sets in
Both the first team's FA Cup tie with Brentford and the 2nds League trip to Worthing were cancelled due to waterlogged pitches. The FA Cup tie will now go ahead next Sunday 4th November but the kick off will be at 1.00pm to allow for extra time and pens. The 2nds rearranged Sussex Trophy game with Haywards Heath 2nds will also be played next Sunday at Jarvis Brook.

Chichester get early Christmas Present
An early penalty and our tendency to give the ball away at every opportunity gifted Chichester a 4-0 half time lead which was always going to be too much to claw back. To our credit, we did batter them in the second half and scored two quick goals through Ellie but when they scored their fifth with a glorious lob into the top corner we knew the game was up. With our team missing Michelle, Amy, Emma, Milla and Elaine we need to improve our strength in depth if we want to challenge seriously for the Championship. The 2nds Sussex Trophy game was washed out by the recent heavy rain.

Great Day for 1sts - Crap Day for 2nds

The first team had a superb 6-1 victory over an admittedly understrength Woking side, with Ellie continuing her return to form with a hat-trick, TC weighing in with two Goal of the Season contenders - a diving header (yeah!) and a 20-yard netbuster. Rachael came on as a second half sub and hit a damn fine shot of her own for her fifth goal of the season. Even Woking's manager Dave Witham admitted after the game it could have been double figures. Meanwhile the 2nds travelled to Valley Valiants "new" ground at Mottingham - surely the most digusting armpit of a place ever to host a football match - with only 8 players and were turned over 3-0 by a team who had lost their previous three games. This was the fifth time the 2nds have fielded less than 11 for a League fixture, and we are urgently recruiting to try to remedy the problem.

Amy Neale signs
Amy completed her registration today and goes straight into Sunday's side to face Woking. With Michelle sidelined for several weeks due to her comedy finger injury (ask her if you want the details), this is excellent news.

1sts fizzle out in the rain at Malling
Missing a number of key players from last week's win at Hastings, most notably Michelle with a badly broken finger, the 1sts travelled to a Malling side boasting a 100% record. However we took the lead with a well-taken goal from Ellie inside 10 minutes, but then conceded two sloppy goals - the second from an extremely dubious free kick after Tina had cleanly won the ball from Nicky Penfold - to put them in front. Ellie then equalised with a lovely lob over our old mate Gerry O'Leary playing in goal for Malling to send the sides in level at half time. Unfortunately in the second half we lost the plot, with Nicky Penfold scoring three time from one-on-ones to give them a 5-2 win. Malling are a good side, but we really did throw this away after good work in the first half.
